Question review
One real question at a time, worked more than one way, with the clock running.
Question review: the circle through three points, and the one time the hand method wins
A circle passes through (0, 0), (6, 0) and (0, 8). Find its radius. Desmos fits it in a table in twenty seconds. By hand it is perpendicular bisectors and a minute of algebra, unless you notice the triangle, in which case it is ten seconds. Both ways, timed, and what that says about when to graph.
Question review: the equation with a constant in it, and the Desmos move that replaces the discriminant
3x² − 36x + k = 0 has exactly two real solutions. For what values of k? By hand it is the discriminant and some arithmetic that is easy to get wrong. In Desmos it is one line, if you know not to type the k. Both ways, timed.
Question review: the square root equation with a root that is not there
Solve √(2x + 3) = x by hand and you get two answers, one of which is wrong. Graph it and you get one. The same question worked both ways, with the clock running, and what it is actually testing.
