About Sightline Prep
Sightline Prep is an online SAT tutoring service based in Cleveland, Ohio, teaching students one-on-one in Ohio and nationwide.
Every student works with one tutor who stays their tutor, and every question they attempt is logged: what it tested, how long it took, and how sure they were. The plan is built from that record. Sessions run on Google Meet, on evenings and weekends, and the first two hours are free. Sightline Prep is operated by Subbiah Education Services LLC.
Varun Subbiah
Founder and SAT tutor
Varun taught the SAT for the first time in 2019, the year he took it. He and someone he met on an SAT forum ran free classes for other students on that forum until they graduated. Their own parents had paid for books and classes; most of the people asking questions there did not have that, and the gap between those two groups was never about ability.
He came back to it in 2022, teaching for a tutoring firm in Massachusetts. In the fall of 2024, a friend asked him to help a younger sister as a favor, and running one student start to finish, diagnostic, plan and notes, is what made him want to build this himself. Every student since has come from someone telling someone else.
